I returned from Newport on Wednesday evening. I volunteered to give up my seat on the way home, so I got 2 free round trip tickets to use within the next year. :-) Happy to be of service. So, I'll get to go see my folks for free, which is super great. We haven't figured out how we'll use the second ticket. Midwest doesn't fly to Gulfport so... we are pondering.
The house is sold and the closing is set up... so the cat tipped over the container I keep the q-tips in and spilled a bunch on the bathroom floor. She loves to play with them... so I left them on the floor. It's so wonderful not to have to keep the house super clean. Kitty especially likes it.
Baby is moving around and life is moving forward, so all is well.

A Weekend in the Sun
Dan graduated on Friday morning. He
was in the color guard and carried the Marine Corp flag (red flag in pic on right). It was quite windy, so he had to wrestle with it for nearly an hour. He did wonderfully! Top left is him taking the Oath of Office with his class. It was a wonderful graduation and even included a terrible speech by one of the COs.
We've met the other 3 families going to Gulfport and have spent nearly every moment that we're together sharing moving ideas and getting to know each other. It's very odd to be "a Navy Wife" - which is an actual thing that I apparently am now. The other wives are wonderful and it's been good to get to know people in similar circumstances.
And, if I haven't mentioned it already... the very exciting news from Gulfport is that I will not be able to have the baby on base... Rather, I'll deliver at the really nice hospital in town. The one with birthing suites and online picture galleries. Very nice.

Signatures all around!
A good realtor really does make all the difference!!
I spent the day in angst because our buyer wanted a $1500 credit to fix the electrical in the house because he didn't understand part of the home inspection report. So... while I was coming up with contingency plans and stressing out, our realtor was calling the home inspector and the other realtor and getting everything figured out. And now...
OUR HOUSE IS SOLD!
The only repairs I have to make are to put a little mortar caulk on a cinder block in the garage and fix 1 electrical outlet. I might just put a shiny new door on the electrical panel for fun.
And I just got back from the best date with Melody. I'd tell you all about the movie we saw... but it was naughty. Funny! Buy also a little naughty. A good night!
Happy mommy-to-be. Happy, fidgety baby. Sleepy Daddy-to-be (it's late in Newport).

If you have cool shoes...
...does that make you cool? Well, either way, these are my new shoes. They are super comfy, extra supportive (for my lamo feet), and have ultra adjustable laces. I've been graced so far with normal sized feet and hands - no swelling. But... as these last few months go on I imagine they might get a bit bigger. And though it's getting harder to get them tied, there is not a slip-on shoe fit for my feet. The exercise in bending and lifting my feet is probably good for me anyway.
We got the list from the buyer with the requested fixes based on the home inspection. He had 5 items: cap the chimney, fix a loose cinder block, repair an outlet in the bathroom, convert a 2 prong to a 3 prong outlet in the garage, and replace the electrical panel. I agreed to caulk the cinder block and the broken outlet in the bathroom. So, I signed the papers this morning and am now waiting on the buyer to agree.
We also learned that Dan will get 4 days to drive to Gulfport after his training in August and then, at the discretion of his commander, he would get up to 2 weeks to look for housing. So... I might not have to make a trip out to MS. As you can tell, we learn something that changes our plans each day.
The funnest part of the next few days... I get to see Dan on Thursday.

And the saga continues...
Less than 100 days left in my pregnancy. That's pretty cool!!
We finally heard from our buyer with his list of wants after the house inspection. A few we might consent to, a few we will not. For example: I'm happy to replace the faulty safety thing on the bathroom electrical socket, I'm not paying an electrician to replace the electrical panel. Why would you do that anyway??
In the same phone call our realtor let us know that someone else is interested in looking at the house. So, last night and this morning I cleaned again. It is really surprising how dirty a house can get in a week. The looker knows there's an offer and is "prepared to act quickly." So... we wait. The looker looks as I type. More news soon.
Oh... and I just bought the coolest shoes! Pictures in my next post.

Home Inspection
Today's the day the inspector goes through the house... so I imagine tomorrow I'll have a list of things to fix. Here's hoping the list is short and easy and CHEEP.
The church threw me a baby shower on Sunday and it was very fun. We got tones of loot... and as soon as I figure out where we'll be hosting pictures, I'll post them.
Dan is doing well. He's looking forward to the end of this school... About once a week someones orders are changed. So we live in a little limbo. For sanitise sake, we're still planning to move to Gulfport in August. If that changes, then we will change too. One of the other chaplains is moving to Gulfport too, but he is headed overseas. So far, Dan's still assigned to the Training Center... which is not currently deployed. This is the faith part of our lives.
Baby Spies is doing well. Some day's he's super busy, some days - like today - he's chillen out. On Monday I go to the doctor again for my monthly checkup so I'll get to ask when I should freak out about how much or how little he's moving. I'll also get to bring our travel plans to see what is most advisable.
Other than that... just a "normal" week.

Verbal Acceptance...
Welcome to the newest roller coaster in our lives. The house is sold... we think. :-) They made an offer, we countered, they countered, we accepted... and now the inspection. I don't expect them to find anything as there was little to find when we bought the house 4 years ago and we didn't hurt it any. So, by next Friday we should have this determined.
It would be really nice to have this all done now... as I would get to leave my lotion on the counter... and my tooth brush... and I really don't like making the bed. The closing date would be August 1st.
We've also learned that it will take about 4 weeks for the Navy to move our stuff. They're not always efficient, and not very quick, but they are very free. And, if we time this right, they'll pack everything up, get everything out of storage... AND unload and arrange the furniture at the new place. Not a bad deal. Now, all we have to do is get a new place. :-) That is a problem for next week.
I feel good. Life seems a little surreal right now, but thing are moving along. I'll see Dan in 12 days. That will be very nice. He is still doing well. Ready to be done. He also gets to leave the base this weekend... so I imagine he'll take in a movie. Wonder what he'll see??

It is finished... well, almost.
As many of you know, I really don't like shopping. And, when you spend 11 years dealing with the fact that you may never really need to shop for baby accessories, the idea of adding "stuff" to your baby registry is a little overwhelming. Especially when you're standing in the middle of the Target with your scanner gun.
But today I finally went and did the deed. Working isle by isle I added all kinds of stuff to our registry. The church is throwing me a shower on Sunday and people have been asking. Now it is finally done. And, other than nearly having a panic attach toward the beginning of this endeavor, all went well and there is more than enough loot to go around.
Life here is good. Realtors walked through Tuesday (24 of them) and I had a showing tonight and one tomorrow. No offers yet. :-) Dan is also doing well and we will get to see each other in about 2 weeks. Thankfully time is moving fast.
