Found Prayers

We've just had a wonderful week with Grandma and Pop Pop and the whole family on Thanksgiving... and there are pictures and stories to share.  But tonight there was much cleaning and I found two prayers from my favorite Chaplain that I'd like to keep.

(On a 3x5 card I managed not to destroy in the wash.)
Lord, our Hope and Strength,
We ask your presence among us as we gather as generations of 3/1 Marines and Sailors with our fiends.  We depend on your blessing as we reflect on our strong traditions and those who have gone before us.  Guide us all as we continue to fight for this great Nation and defend her values.
    In your name,   Amen.

From the 3/1 USMC Birthday Ball:
Lord,
Bless this celebration with your presence.  For one more year of honorable, courageous, and committed Marines serving a Nation at war, we thank you for the strength you provide.  For those we have lost and wish were her with us tonight, we thank you for your eternal promise and ask for your continued comfort.  For our part in this heritage - 236 years of faithful Marines who have passed on to us and entrusted us with this great Corps we thank you, Lord, for being always faithful.  For surrounding these Marines with community support, close friends, loving family, and Sailors serving shoulder to shoulder we thank you that we are never alone.
Thank you for providing this meal and bless those who have prepared it and served it for us tonight.
    In your name, Amen.

Do you know who I married today, Mommy...

This is a picture Susan took on Saturday.  Then posted it to facebook... where Gregg called Isaiah "Zoolander."  It's good to have friends.

Other than a screaming headache through the middle of the day, all is well.  While I was making dinner, Isaiah came up to me and said, "Do you  know who I married today, Mommy? ... Jasmine!"  He is, indeed, smitten with Jasmine, and I'm told that playing "marriage" is a healthy way to model relationships.  It still freaks me out a bit.  I did ask him how it went.  He said Jamsin dressed up in a princess dress and spun around, "then I told her I married her and she said, 'Yipee' and hugged me."  Is St. Thomas still an all boys school?

Tonight's dinner was tacos.  I let Isaiah make his own so he piled cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and Chili-Lime refriedbeans on his tortilla and asked me to roll it up.  Then he proceeded to put even MORE lettuce on his plate... then he ATE IT, nearly all of it!.  I don't know what I'm going to do about this either.

A Good First Day

Other than Isaiah getting up at 6:15, even after going to be at 9pm last night... today was a good day.  No work, so the big event was going to Costco to use our benefits for the last time.  The card expires this month and I'm not going to renew it.  So I spent the morning trying to figure out how many cans of corn I can use this year.

Needless to say, the outing was successful and I finally found a real-world  use for Tetris.  All of our treasures, as well as our new camera (photo of Za and his blue blow-pop to test it), are all moved in.  The mail was retrieved, the garbage is out, and now to bed.  A good day.
