Do you know what's keeping me from flying away?

The strangest question for Isaiah who was standing in the bathtub. I've been well trained so I simply said, "What?" "Gravity! Everyone has a little gravity in them and it keeps them from flying all around." Aparently Busytown Mysteries is good for more than a 20 minute nap. :) We finally had a close to normal day after two weeks from Hell. My disdain for Christmas is well known, but this year I also had two really bad weeks to go with it. I'll conical those at another time. Today Corianne's came over to watch Za while I worked and she even got him to take a nap. Now, if I can only get him to go to sleep on time tonight...

The red car is IN!

Granted... My car is out, but we're moving in the right direction. They will switch out our recycle bins in a few weeks, so they will be gone. I got the pull-up thing in front of Dan's car on the left and half of the boxes have been cut p. I don't remember where I got the rule that all cardboard has to be broken down into 3-foot square prices... But I might change it on Monday and just put out the bigger prices too. Today is part of winter break so Isaiah and I had the day to work on the garage. I'll post a picture when it's done. Then the post office and then Shakkies for lunch. I know, its like a party all the time. The picture is from La Posada which was a Mexican reselling of the journey of Mary and Joseph. Very cool. And it ended with tamales! Super yummy night with Tara and Isaiah!

Target Santa

We went to Target today to pick up something silly for Glenn's graduation party. I am happy to report two very significant things:

First, I made it out of Target spending LESS than $100! - I know, you're impressed.

Second, on the way out, a Target Team Memeber who looked a lot like Santa was putting carts away at the entrance. Isaiah saw him and said, "Look, it's Santa.".
The guy stopped and shook Isaiah's hand and asked if he made a list for Santa. Isaiah politely responded, "No, sorry. Maybe we'll do that next time."
Santa said, "But how will Santa know what you want."
Isaiah, "My Mommy and Daddy get me a present and whatever it is will be wonderful."

The world is already rushing in. Isaiah doesn't know the words to Away in the Manger, but he can sing most of Rudolph by heart. For this brief moment, I'm claiming a win in our column. Many thanks to the friends and Granparents on both sides who were so gracious and skipped that question with Isaiah. This won't last forever, but for this year he's perfectly happy giving presents away and, I hope, will be very excited with the ones he gets too.

One for you?

Had a lovely date with Isaiah at Souplantation. He was so good, two old guys came up to compliment him. The second guy noticed the cookies on our table and commented about how they hadn't gotten to his table yet. So Isaiah offered him one of ours. We are going something right. Today was also Corianne's first day with Issaiah and it went wonderfully!! No nap, but even the highly paid professionals at school have a hard time with that. We have a plan for Friday and, as always, will try again.

So, if you make less than 50% of the dinner, who get's credit?

It's been busy and fun and... busy.  I've changed my schedule at work a bit so we actually got home before dark today!  After an episode of Fistronaut, Isaiah helped make dinner while I took out the trash and tried to find the sink.  Dan really does have the best plan... put the dishes NEXT TO the sink, not in the sink.  It really is hard to wash dishes with a full sink.

I'm behind at work, but I really need to get the Christmas stuff sent off, so I'm trying to decide when to get it all done.

So... all, in all, it's been a good start to the week.
